THE GLIMPSES OF THE HOT DEBATE ON THE ANGANAWADI WORKERS CAPTURED IN THE CAMERA !

234567891011121The Karnataka Chief Minister Mr. Siddaramaiah gave a fitting reply with facts and figures to the opposition on the Anganwadi worker’s issue in the state legislative assembly.

When the integrated child development scheme was launched by the Government of India in 1975, the Anganwadi workers were paid an honorarium, of which 90 percent was borne by the Government of India and 10 per cent by the Government of Karnataka.

Now, Government of Karnataka is bearing 84 per cent of the honorarium and just 16 percent is shared by the Government of India. Mr. Siddaramaiah asked on the floor to decide “who is pro-women?” he also assured the house that the government is ready to discuss the genuine demands of the anganawadi workers and anganawadi helpers, which would also be considered favorably.
